Youth Evangelization, Grades 6-12

Building off of the work started last year, we will continue this year to expand the Teen offering with a comprehensive approach that relies on devotional, social, and service-oriented opportunities for the Youth of the Parish.

At the beginning of each month, all Teens and their families are invited to participate in Family Formation meetings where the entire family is involved--Teens help and serve as leaders and aide in the offering and activities with other families.

If your Teen is still in need of preparing for and celebrating Sacraments, please register them for the Teen Sacraments Program, which is developed on a yearly/case-by-case basis with the Department Director. Please see paragraph below for more information.

Teen Sacrament Program

Any Teen in grades 5th - 12th in need of celebrating Sacraments should sign up for the Teen Sacraments Program. Each program year, there are several Teens for various reasons that may not have celebrated a Sacrament within the Church.

We have "Restored Order" in the Diocese of Phoenix, and we celebrate--in 3rd Grade--the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation together in one Sacramental Mass celebration with the Bishop. When a child or Teen falls outside the "normal timeline" for the reception of Sacraments, we create a separate intentional offering and seek to group the Teens together for these preparations. Because of this, we ask that parents denote that their Teen is still in need of these preparations, and then a follow-up conversation should be scheduled with the Department Director.

Once we have allowed enough time for all Teens of the Parish to register, we will then coordinate with families the time/days/frequency of Sacramental Preparations. Please also keep in mind that these preparations should be in addition to their involvement in the Youth Program for their grade range.
