First Eucharist

The Holy Eucharist is the “source and summit” of our Faith and the way in which we most closely unite ourselves to God.

In the Diocese of Phoenix, we have Restored Order for receiving the Sacraments of Initiation. This means that children generally receive Confirmation and First Holy Eucharist together in third grade.

At Saint Bernadette, children enroll in Family Catechesis and Sacrament Preparation to prepare to receive Confirmation and First Holy Eucharist. Children must have received a minimum of one year of formation prior to the year they prepare for these sacraments.
